Donation specific terms
Financial donations from the Beer Festival committee made to local causes are to be considered a single, one off donation. The committee will publish details of all organisations who receive donations together with photos on the website, facebook, twitter and local news outlets. If organisations are not willing to be published in this way, they should not apply.
Local groups or charities are welcome to apply for donations of up to £500. If a project requires more than £500, applications will be considered stating the total amount required however may receive less than they applied for. The committee may decide to award donations to a value greater than £500 at its sole discretion.
The committee will consider and award funding for projects that are located, based in, or will directly benefit residents within the villages of Bluntisham, Colne or Earith. Application suitability will be judged on the impact, quality and funding needs of proposals.
There is no limit to the number of applications a group or organisation can make. The committee will look more favorably on projects that need additional support to complete (I.e: the organisation already have some funding or have been fundraising for prior to applying to the committee).
The committee does not guarantee a donation for every application.
The committee’s decision is final. The committee is not part of the parish council and is not required to comply with any public sector or local government regulations. The committee is not required to donate any specific percentage of the festival profits each year and it reserves the right to retain whatever percentage of funding for future years.
Committee decisions are agreed by voting within committee meetings. If an even number of committee members are present then the chairperson has the casting vote.
The committee is completely voluntary. No committee member will receive any financial reward at any time. Any profit from festivals will be either reserved for future festivals or made available for local organisations in the form of donations.
